Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was an athletically inclined child and discovered her love to sprint at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition she was ranked among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. She broke the Junior World Record taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest to win the 200 meter during the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She won her medal time and time again in 2007 beating her time-tested Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
